When your tires wear down, you have a perfect opportunity to change them out for a new type. If you've never looked at other tires, though, you might not know where to start. That's where we at Permian Mitsubishi come in. We can help you find the perfect tires for your Mitsubishi, and that starts by explaining the different types.

What Size Tire do I Need?

Tires come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and it's important you get the right ones for your wheels. All cars will recommend certain tires, and while you should match the measurements, you have some flexibility with other details. You can find this recommendation in your owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb and should look something like 215/50R17 98H. That first part is the measurement you want to match, but the second part tells you the kind of tire it is.

What Type of Tire Should I Get?

You have some options here. All-season tires are the most common tires. These can handle dry, wet, snowy and all sorts of road conditions well, but they don't excel at any weather conditions. Summer tires are ideal for dry and wet braking, but don't perform as well in the snow, nor do the prevent rolls as well as other tires. Finally, winter or snow tires provide excellent snow traction, but don't perform as well on dry or wet roads.

Unless you plan on driving up to the snowier states, you'll probably be fine with summer or all-season tires. All-season tires give you some peace of mind in case a surprise snowstorm hits, but summer tires will perform best most of the time. You may want to use all-season tires during the winter and summer tires the rest of the year. Whatever you decide, we'll be here at Permian Mitsubishi with the right tires for your car.
